Offshore Towage : Barge UR6 Stavanger to Rotterdam

SMS Towage’s 50tbp harbour/offshore tug “Englishman” sailed from Immingham on the 22nd May 2015 to collect the Ugland Barge “UR6″ from the picturesque Steinsvik (Stavanger) and tow her to the port of Rotterdam.

The 300 x 90ft barge (4,066 grt) was mobilising for her next charter in ballast condition. Weather conditions were forecast to gradually deteriorate throughout the course of the passage. With this in mind Englishman and her crew were able push on and make their destination averaging 6knts and without incident. On arrival Rotterdam 28th of May 2015, Englishman assisted the barge all the way to her berth with assistance of local harbour tugs.
